Local on coastal sand-dunes on Jersey, where it has been known in the area since 1995. Not yet recorded on the British mainland. Wingspan 35-45 mm. Most resembles
Sand Dart A. ripae, and can also be confused with poorly marked examples of
Archer's Dart A. vestigialis and
Spalding's Dart A. herzogi; the pure white hindwing is a good indicator of Wood's Dart. Larva feeds on Tuberous Hawk's-beard, Devil's-bit Scabious, Small Scabious, Ribwort Plantain, Greater Plantain and Dock.
