Very rare immigrant, or accidental import. Larvae, found in numbers in October 1933 on a long-established bulbous edging plant Zephyranthes candida in Kew Gardens, Surrey, were either the progeny of an immigrant from southern Europe, where the moth is native, or were imported in their early stages in other bulbs. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 35-45 mm. Larva feeds on various garden plants; limited evidence of breeding in the UK.
