Only discovered as a resident British species in 1972, when a male was taken at mercury-vapour light at about 500 m on a mountain in Monmouthshire on 30 July. Subsequently found to be locally common in a very small area close to the original trapping area. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 24-27 mm. Larva feeds on Heath Bedstraw.
