Rare immigrant from mainland Europe, appearing in south-eastern England, where recorded on a number of occasions in the 19th Century, mostly in Kent. The most recent records are of single captures at ivy-blossom in a locality near Cambridge in early October 1920 and 1938. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 40-46 mm. The most likely confusion species is
Conformist L. furcifera, which see for differences. Larva feeds on Bog-myrtle, Bilberry and Creeping Willow, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
