Nationally scarce (Nb) in oak woodland throughout much of the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight there are just a few records from all three vice-counties. Wingspan 10-12 mm. Characterised by the extensive cream-white irroration of the forewing and the presence of a small black spot in the lower part of the discal area with usually a smaller spot below [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Oak, living within a spun or rolled leaf, over-wintering as a pupa.
