Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in pine woodland in parts of the Scottish Highlands and unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 12-15 mm. Differs from
C. coniferana by the slightly broader, more strongly falcate medio-dorsal blotch and the comparatively distinct, widely spaced, white costal interspaces, but safe determination requires dissection. Larva feeds within bark of Scots Pine.
