Scarce in pine woodland in parts of the Scottish Highlands. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 12-15 mm. Differs from C. coniferana by the slightly broader, more strongly falcate medio-dorsal blotch and the comparatively distinct, widely spaced, white costal interspaces [Bradley]. Larva feeds within bark of Scots Pine.
