Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in hedgerows and woodland in parts of Huntingdonshire. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan male 7.8-8.8 mm, female 8.8-9.8 mm. The largest European Ectoedemia, distinguished by orange head and absence of white spots on forewing [Bradley]. Larva mines bark of Elm, over-wintering once or twice.
