Occurrence in the British Isles unconfirmed, this European species is included on the British list on the basis of a report in 1829 of one collected near Dulwich, London, a few years earlier, which might have been this species. Wingspan 37-41 mm. Larva feeds on Alder, Rowan and Birch, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
