Common on moorland and upland grassland throughout much of Scotland and northern England. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 38-42 mm. Larva feeds on Broad-leaved Dock, Curled Dock, Sheep's Sorrel and Common Sorrel, over-wintering as an egg.
