First recorded at MV light on 29th October 2022 in Plymouth, Devon. A thermophilous species locally distributed from the Iberian peninsula, along the Mediterranean region across the Near and Middle-east. In its native range, it is polyphagous on plants in the Chenopodiaceae (s.l.), e.g. Chenopodium and Atriplex. Superficially resembling Dark Arches Apamea monoglypha, but differing in many details, including distinctive stigmata, pale brown coloration, lack of crosslines. See Atropos 72: 40-45 for details. While confusion should not be possible with other species in western Europe, there are other Eremohadena that could potentially arrive here as migrants, so all candidates will need retaining as specimens.
