Very rare immigrant (less than 10 previous UK records) from southern Europe appearing on the south-east coast of England where recorded near Dover in October 2006; natural range largely subtropical, but recorded from Spain, southern France and Malta. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 26-30 mm. No evidence of breeding in the UK.
