Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in produce from Central and South America, recorded in the 19th Century from the banks of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal near Chorley, south Lancashire and as an accidental import to the London area, with no further records to date. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. No evidence of breeding in the UK.
