Local in damp grassland, marshes and other damp areas throughout much of England and Wales. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight the species has declined and is now found only in scattered colonies. Wingspan 24-27 mm. Similar to Cream Wave S. floslactata, but smaller. Larva feeds on Meadowsweet and Common Valerian.
