Common in gardens, hedgerows and rough ground, also occasionally indoors throughout Britain. Widespread and common in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 19-21 mm. Rather pug-like in size and shape, but irrorate (dusty) appearance is unlike any pug. Larva feeds on withered leaves and plant detritus.
