Nationally scarce (Na) in rocky areas in parts of western Britain, predominantly coastal. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 24-28 mm. The most likely confusion species is Opsibotys fuscalis, from which distinguished by the narrower, more pointed forewing and the more serrate second line. Larva feeds on flowers and leaves of Goldenrod, living gregariously within a silken web.
