Suspected rare immigrant, or perhaps accidentally imported. This North American species is included on the British list on the basis of a moth collected at Westonzoyland, Somerset on 23 September 2006. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 27-31 mm. Very similar to
U. gilvata, from which separated only by dissection of the genitalia. Larva feeds on Montpellier Broom, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
