Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) and restricted in Britain to woodland in the Wye Valley, where only discovered in 1964, and to a few woods in Somerset and Warwickshire. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 18-22 mm. Similar to
Pyla fusca but smaller and broader-winged and, in the male, with a white head. Larva feeds on Small-leaved Lime.
