Naturalised through accidental introduction in cacao from the tropics in warehouses in London, Liverpool and elsewhere. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 15-22 mm. Larva feeds on Cacao, Rice and various dried goods, causing sufficient damage to be a serious pest in some areas.
