A rare species of damp grassland and woodland edges in parts of Argyll and Inverness-shire; central Europe and Fennoscandia. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 29-31 mm. Larva feeds on Purple Moor-grass, False-brome and Tor-grass.
