A very worn individual of this species was identified by dissection from a specimen caught on 30 August 2011 in Bridlington, east Yorkshire (Ent Rec 124: 64-66). The larvae feed on the fruits of Cupressus, and it is likely that the moth originated from plants introduced by the horticultural trade. A distinctive species with only superficial resemblance to other conifer-feeding tortricids. It is widely distributed in southern Europe from Iberia, eastwards to Bulgaria and as far north as Switzerland, with sporadic, probably adventive, records elsewhere.
