Nationally scarce (Nb) on moorland and in mountains throughout much of northern England, Scotland and Ireland. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 11-14 mm. distinctive species, recognised by its conspicuously silver-edged forewing markings, including the very obliquely edged basal patch marked with longitudinal silver streaks [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Heather, Bog Bilberry, Whortle-leaved Willow and Mountain Avens, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
