Nationally scarce (Na) on moorland and mountains in parts of northern England and Wales, and in the Scottish Highlands, flying in afternoon sunshine around its foodplants. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 11-15 mm. Larvae feed on cowberry, or occasionally bilberry, in spun leaves.
