Rare in downland in parts of Britain. Stated by Meyrick [1927, in Brit. Lep.: 486] to occur in Hampshire but there have been no confirmatory records, despite searches amongst the foodplant. Wingspan 10-13 mm. The conspicuous fasciate purplish markings, which contrast with the deep yellow ground colour of the forewing, are characteristic [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Juniper, living between berries spun together with silk.
