Scarce on heathland and mosses in parts of southern England, southern Scotland and western Ireland. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 11-15 mm. Similar to G. alismana but distinguished by the more angulate median fascia [Bradley]. Larva feeds within flowers and seedheads of Lousewort.
