Nationally scarce (Na) in woodland and on moorland in parts of the Scottish Highlands. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 19-25 mm. This species differs from
A. hastiana in the shape of the forewing, the costa of which is relatively smooth-scaled and evenly arched, while in
A. hastiana the wing is broader basally, with the costa rough-scaled, strongly arched basally and shallowly concave beyond the middle [Bradley]. Larva feeds on Bilberry, Bog Bilberry and Bog-myrtle, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
