Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in garden plants from Asia where it is widely distributed in the Oriental region, particularly noted in Sri Lanka, India, and other tea-producing areas. In Hampshire, recorded for the first time at Titchfield Haven on 26 July 1996. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 16-23 mm. Larva is a commercial pest of Tea, Coffee and various shrubs in its native area.
