Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in produce from eastern Asia. Known in Britain from two specimens captured in May 1980 in a department store at Margate, Kent, with no further records to date. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 10-14 mm. Day-flying, may come to light. Larva feeds on Fat-hen, living between flowers and shoots spun together with silk, gregarious in early instars; no evidence of breeding in the UK.
