Extinct in the British Isles, formerly known from saltmarshes on the Isle of Wight, from where specimens from the 19th Century were retrospectively identified in 1986, but the species could not be found in subsequent searches of the area. Not recorded in Hampshire. Wingspan 14-16 mm. Confused in the past with
S. samadensis and
S. instabilella, which see. Larva feeds within stems of Sea Arrowgrass.
