Endangered (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) in marshes, river-banks and other damp areas. First found in 1853 in south Essex, then in Oxfordshire and east Suffolk in 1905, Cambridgeshire and south-east Yorkshire in 1948, and north-east Yorkshire in 1950, but there have been no further records anywhere in Britain since. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 13-16 mm. Larva feeds on White Willow and Crack Willow, living within a spun or rolled leaf.
