Extinct in the British Isles, formerly widespread throughout most of England, with the last confirmed record being from Oxfordshire in 1924. Recorded for the last time from the Isle of Wight in 1893, but never from Hampshire. Larva feeds on flowers and seedheads of Hogweed, Wild Parsnip and Wild Angelica.
