Nationally scarce (Na) on sandhills along the coast of England. In Hampshire recorded at Hayling Island and Eastney, Portsmouth, while a single record in the north of the county might be the result of immigration, or even through the transportation of sand from the coast. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 18-22 mm. Larva feeds on Sea Holly, living gregariously within spun or rolled leaves.
