Common in hedgerows and scrub throughout southern England, north to Yorkshire. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight widely distributed, but not particularly common. Wingspan 11-15 mm. Larva mines leaves of Hawthorn and Blackthorn, living and feeding gregariously within a silken web.
