Recorded infrequently through accidental importation in produce, with a tropical distribution although actual area of origin is unclear. First recorded in the UK in 2004 when it was found under glass in south-west England and in 2005 it was recorded outdoors on Guernsey. Probably resident there and on the Scilly Isles.In Hampshire recorded for the first time, to MV light, at Fareham on 12 October 2005. Not recorded from the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 14-16 mm. Larva feeds on decaying vegetable matter and detritus.
