Nationally scarce (Nb) in woodland and bogs throughout much of Britain, except the extreme north-west. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight recorded sparsely from a handful of sites, most recently at Hurstbourne Common and Botley Wood. Wingspan 11-13 mm. Characterised by triangular dorsal spots at a quarter from base and near tornus, smaller costal spots at a third from base and opposite tornal, the basal pair often linked to form an inwardly oblique fascia (MBGBI Vol 1), but poorly marked or worn specimens can only be separated from other similar species by dissection of the genitalia. Larva feeds within fruits and berries of Bramble, Dewberry, Cloudberry and Raspberry.
