Vulnerable (proposed as a future Red Data Book species) on heathland and moorland in parts of northern Scotland and southern Ireland, a priority species under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 17-18 mm. Larva feeds on dead leaves, living within a movable case.
