Previously considered as a valid species, confined to damp woodland in south-eastern England, known only from Hamstreet Woods, Kent and Broxbourne Woods and Bayfordbury in Hertfordshire. It has now been proved to be a hybrid between S. costaestrigalis and S. taenialis, and hence not a valid species (Hausmann et al, 2011. Spixiana 34: 47-58).
