Occurrence in the British Isles unconfirmed, this North American species is included on the British list on the basis of a specimen caught in a light-trap at Rothamsted, Hertfordshire, on 3 July 1949 and exhibited on 7 June 1950 at the Royal Entomological Society of London. Wingspan 38-44 mm. Larva feeds on various broad-leaved trees.
