Very rare immigrant (less than 10 previous UK records) from southern Europe, appearing in Britain at Totland, Isle of Wight, on 11 September 2006 and at Brightlingsea, Essex, on 12 August 2009. Occurs widely worldwide, though its European distribution is southern and chiefly within countries bordering the Mediterranean. Not recorded from Hampshire to date. Wingspan 34-40 mm.
