Very rare immigrant from mainland Europe, appearing in southern England. Not recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight to date. Wingspan 30-38 mm. Resembles Lunar Marbled Brown Drymonia ruficornis: voucher specimen should be retained for confirmation of identification. Larva feeds on Aspen and Poplar, no evidence of breeding in the UK.
