Local in broad-leaved woodland, hedgerows, parks and gardens throughout much of the British Isles, except in northern Scotland; well distributed in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 25-29 mm. Fairly unmistakable, but green coloration soon fades to dirty yellow. Larva feeds on Holly, Ivy, Wild Privet, Dogwood, Guelder-rose and Hawthorn, over-wintering as a pupa.
