Nationally scarce (Nb) in bogs, damp heathland, mosses and moorland, in Scotland and northern England. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 24-30 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on Bilberry, Cowberry and Cranberry, over-wintering as an egg.
