Local in hedgerows, woodland rides, sea cliffs and gardens, mainly in chalk and limestone districts throughout much of the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight rarely encountered, mainly on the chalk, with occasional wanderers far from known sources of the foodplant. Wingspan 21-24 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on seed capsules of Sea Campion and Bladder Campion, over-wintering as a pupa.
