Local on calcareous grassland, sand-hills and coastal shingle throughout the British Isles, a species of conservation concern under the UK Biodiversity Action Plan. Local on good quality grassland, particularly on the downs, in Hampshire but quite rare in the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 20-26 mm. Paler than most
Perizoma species, and lacking the two dark spots on the sub-terminal fascia of
Twin-spot Carpet P. didymata. Larva feeds on seeds of Yellow-rattle, over-wintering as a pupa.
