Common in gardens, allotments and woodland throughout the British Isles. In Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight appears to be one of the species which is benefiting from the increase in average summer temperatures in recent years, with a marked increase apparent in the last ten years. Wingspan 37-42 mm. Could be confused with a late flying Water Carpet Lampropteryx suffumata, which see. Larva feeds on Black Currant, Red Currant and Gooseberry, including cultivated plants, over-wintering as an egg.
