Increasingly common in parks and gardens in parts of south-eastern England. First recorded in mainland Britain in 1984 in West Sussex, and now established across much of southern England. In Hampshire now locally common in the south of the county and on the Isle of Wight, appearing in North Hampshire for the first time in 2001, and with some regularity from 2006 onwards. Wingspan 28-32 mm. The main confusion species is
Juniper Carpet T. juniperata, which see for differences. Larva feeds on Monterey Cypress.
