Common in coniferous woodland, plantations, parks and gardens throughout the British Isles; common and widespread in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 28-36 mm. For comparison with confusion species, click here. Larva feeds on coniferous trees, including Scots Pine, Norway Spruce, Douglas Fir, Lawson's Cypress and Leyland Cypress.
