Nationally scarce (Nb) on moorland, lightly wooded hillsides and rocky areas, both inland and on the coast, in northern England, northern Wales and Scotland. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 26-30 mm. Identified by combination of small size and lack of apical streak in forewing. Larva feeds on Juniper.
