Local in pine woodland in Inverness-shire. However, in 2007/8, a small resident population was discovered in an area of ancient pine woodland in Inverness-shire. Not recorded from Hampshire to date. Wingspan 60-92 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on Scots Pine and Norway Spruce.
