Common in open woodland, young plantations, hedgerows and gardens throughout England and Wales. Widespread and common in Hampshire and on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 40-44 mm. Unmistakable. Larva feeds on Bramble and Dewberry, over-wintering as a pupa.
