Nationally scarce (Na) in ravines, gorges and on loch-shores in parts of the Scottish Highlands. Unlikely to be recorded in Hampshire or on the Isle of Wight. Wingspan 23-27 mm. The pale coloration and dark borders to both fore- and hindwings distinguish this from related species [Goater]. Larva feeds on Buckler-fern and other ferns.
